Eaglecrest Raptors' S players, get ready to take your speed to the next level. Coach Thompson's 'Sprint to Success' drill is a game-changer for 5A programs. Set up four cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at one end, sprinting to the first cone, then make a 45-degree cut to the second cone, and repeat. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Keep your eyes up, stay low, and explode out of each cut.' This drill translates to game performance by improving agility, acceleration, and reaction time. By mastering this drill, S players will be able to quickly change direction and close the gap on defenders, giving their team a competitive edge.
