Maloney Spartans Name New Defensive Coordinator
The Maloney Spartans, a Class LL football program from Meriden, have elevated assistant coach Michael Smith to defensive coordinator. Smith has spent the past four seasons developing talent and preparing game plans for the Spartans. His promotion comes as the team looks to build on a 4-6 record from last season. The Spartans are expected to be a competitive force in the Central Connecticut Conference this fall. Recruiting efforts are underway, with Smith playing a key role in identifying and developing young players. His experience and knowledge of the program will be crucial in helping the Spartans improve their defensive unit and make a push for a state championship. The Spartans will hold a summer football camp in July to prepare for the upcoming season.
