Marcus Brown Commits to UTSA
Shelton Gaels kicker Marcus Brown has committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for the Class of 2026. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound specialist cited the Roadrunners' aggressive 3-4 defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision, as he believes it will allow him to showcase his skills in a high-pressure environment. Brown also noted the opportunity to compete for a starting role immediately, as UTSA's current depth chart at kicker is wide open. Additionally, the university's strong academic programs in the College of Sciences, which include a renowned physics department, align with Brown's academic interests. Brown had previously committed to another school but reopened his recruitment in April, ultimately selecting UTSA as the best fit for his athletic and academic goals.
