QB Quick Release Drill for Appoquinimink Jaguars

๐Ÿ“ Appoquinimink JaguarsยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Quick Release Drill is a crucial component of any Div I quarterback's training regimen. At Appoquinimink Jaguars, we use this drill to improve accuracy and speed on short to medium passes. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start in a shotgun formation, 5 yards behind the center. On the coach's signal, they drop back, focus on their target, and release the ball within 2 seconds. The coaching cue is 'eyes on the target, snap to release.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the quarterback's ability to quickly identify and attack open receivers, making them a more effective threat in the Jaguars' high-powered offense. By incorporating this drill into their training, Appoquinimink Jaguars QBs will be better equipped to succeed in the DIAA playoffs.
