Local standout flag football player, Emily Wilson, has caught the attention of college coaches from the University of Nebraska and several NAIA programs. The rising senior, a key member of the St. Mark's Spartans, has reportedly drawn interest from the Cornhuskers, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, who will launch their inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028. Additionally, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, have also shown interest in Wilson's skills. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA Division 1 program, is also monitoring her progress. Wilson's coaches and family members recommend that she focus on developing her skills at summer camps and showcase events, such as the Nebraska Flag Football Camp and the NAIA Showcase, to increase her chances of securing a scholarship.
