Unleashing the Beast: Caesar Rodney Riders' DE Drill for Dominance

๐Ÿ“ Caesar Rodney RidersยทSunday, July 19, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Caesar Rodney Riders' defensive line coach is focusing on a drill that will take their DEs to the next level. The 'Rider Rush' drill involves 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 2-minute rest in between sets. Players will start in a 3-point stance, then explosively burst 5 yards downfield, planting their outside foot and driving their inside foot into the ground. As they reach the 5-yard mark, they'll quickly change direction, using a 'chop' step to accelerate back to the starting point. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target' and 'drive through the ground.' This drill translates to game performance by improving speed, agility, and acceleration. It also enhances the DE's ability to quickly change direction and pursue the quarterback.
