The DIAA's flag football pilot district expansion is opening doors for Texas athletes to secure scholarships at top programs. The Smyrna Eagles, a Division I powerhouse, are at the forefront of this movement. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers at the University of Nebraska, the inaugural NCAA Division 1 Power 4 school to offer flag football in 2028, are actively recruiting top talent from the Lone Star State. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, is offering up to 12 NAIA scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also actively recruiting. As UT Arlington's NCAA Division 1 program develops, these verified scholarship pathways are giving Texas athletes a clear route to success.
