Spartan Sprint: A High-Intensity Drill for RB Dominance

๐Ÿ“ St. Mark's SpartansยทSaturday, July 25, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At St. Mark's Spartans, our Div II running backs are gearing up for a strong season with a high-intensity drill that targets speed, agility, and power. The 'Spartan Sprint' involves 3 sets of 10 reps, with 20 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively sprint 10 yards, planting their outside foot and quickly changing direction to accelerate another 10 yards. Coaches cue: 'Fast feet, fast hands, and a low center of gravity.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to quickly change direction, accelerate, and break tackles. By incorporating the Spartan Sprint into their pre-season training, RBs will be better equipped to dominate on the field.
