What Coaches Look for on a Junior Day Visit

๐Ÿ“ Chaminade-Madonna LionsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

When attending a junior day at a 3A program like Chaminade-Madonna Lions, offensive linemen should be prepared to showcase their skills. Coaches look for athletes who can demonstrate proper technique, particularly in pass protection. During drills, focus on keeping your feet shoulder-width apart, with your knees slightly bent and weight evenly distributed between both feet. Keep your back straight and hands up, with your elbows at a 90-degree angle. For example, in a 1-on-1 pass rush drill, aim to keep the defender at bay for at least 3 seconds, allowing your quarterback to release the ball. Additionally, be prepared to answer questions about your experience, training and film. Coaches want to see a player who is coachable, dedicated and willing to put in the work to improve their craft.
