Cadet Rush: A Pre-Season Drill for Benedictine RBs
The Benedictine Cadets are gearing up for another strong 4A season, and their running backs are no exception. To improve their speed, agility, and power, the Cadets' coaching staff has developed a drill that targets the RB position specifically. The 'Cadet Rush' drill involves 3 sets of 10 reps: 10-yard sprint, followed by a 5-yard change of direction, and finishing with a 3-yard jump-cut. Coaches should cue their RBs to 'explode' out of the gate, 'attack' the change of direction, and 'bend' into the jump-cut. This drill translates to game performance by simulating the quick decisions and rapid changes of direction that RBs face on the field. By incorporating the Cadet Rush into their pre-season training, Benedictine RBs can expect to see improved speed, agility, and overall game-day performance.
