Saint Louis Crusaders' Flag Football Star Eyes D1 Scholarship Opportunities

Multisport standout Emily Wilson is trading in her volleyball spikes for flag football passes, aiming to secure a Division 1 scholarship with the NCAA's Emerging Sports for Women program. The program, launched in January 2026, includes women's flag football as one of its featured sports. Wilson's top target is the University of Nebraska, the only Power 4 school with a fully funded D1 varsity program. However, NAIA programs like Ottawa University (KS), Keiser University (FL) and Midland University (NE) also offer active scholarships. UT Arlington's developing D1 program in Texas could be another viable option. To secure a scholarship, Wilson must excel in flag football and meet the NCAA's eligibility requirements. She'll need to maintain a strong GPA, stay academically eligible and meet the program's athletic standards.
