DeShawn Taylor: Crusader Tight End Ready to Rebound
At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, DeShawn Taylor's imposing frame made him a dominant force in the open field. In 2025, he averaged 12.5 yards per reception, the highest among tight ends in Division I, 4A Oahu Conference. But Taylor's breakout season was nearly derailed when he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 5. The setback would have been a career-ender for many, but not for Taylor. He spent the offseason rehabilitating and retooling his technique, and it paid off when he earned a starting role at tight end for the Saint Louis Crusaders. Now, as a junior, Taylor is poised to become one of the top tight ends in the state. He's been a standout in the Crusaders' summer camp, consistently outmuscling defenders for receptions. Scouts are watching to see if Taylor can maintain his production and stay healthy throughout the season.
