Kamehameha Warriors K Players: Master the 3-Cone Shuttle Drill
At Kamehameha Warriors Open programs, K players are putting in the work to dominate on the field. One key drill to focus on is the 3-Cone Shuttle. This exercise targets speed, agility, and quick changes of direction โ essential skills for any K player. The drill consists of three cones set up in a triangular formation, with players starting at one cone. They must weave through the cones, then immediately change direction to shuttle back to the starting cone. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'stay low,' 'keep your eyes up,' and 'explosive acceleration.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly read and react to defensive schemes, making them a more effective and elusive K player.
