Kamehameha Elevates Assistant Coach to Coordinator Role

Kamehameha Warriors head coach, Kimo Alama-Kuhaulua, announced Thursday the promotion of assistant coach, Kainoa Kalama, to defensive coordinator. Kalama, who joined the Warriors' staff in 2023, has spent the past three seasons developing the team's defensive line talent. The Warriors, a perennial powerhouse in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I, finished 2025 with a 9-3 record. Kalama's elevation is seen as a strategic move to bolster the team's defensive presence ahead of the 2026 season. The Warriors are expected to remain a top contender in the OIA, with Kalama's expertise likely to attract more top recruits to the program.
