The IHSAA's pilot district expansion for girls flag football in Texas is generating buzz among top programs nationwide. For Southeast Polk Rams athletes, this development opens doors to new scholarship pathways. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is set to launch its inaugural 2028 season with Power 4 status. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse offering up to 12 scholarships, is actively recruiting top talent. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is in development, though scholarships have not yet been announced. Rams athletes interested in pursuing flag football scholarships should research these programs and reach out to coaches to discuss eligibility and recruitment processes.
