FridayNightPulse Training Tip: LB Speed and Agility for Dowling Catholic Maroons
This week's training tip is designed to enhance the speed and agility of 4A linebackers like those at Dowling Catholic Maroons. The 'L-Drill' consists of three stations: a 5-yard cone weave, a 10-yard shuttle run, and a 15-yard zig-zag sprint. Players will complete 3 sets of 5 reps at each station, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'stay low' during the cone weave, 'explosive acceleration' during the shuttle run, and 'change of direction' during the zig-zag sprint. This drill translates to game performance by improving LB reaction time, agility in tight spaces, and ability to quickly close gaps.
