Elijah Smith Commits to Texas Tech
Rocky Mountain Grizzlies running back Elijah Smith, a Class of 2025 prospect, has committed to Texas Tech University. Smith, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound back, chose the Red Raiders after considering several Power Five programs. The Grizzlies' star athlete cited Texas Tech's run-heavy scheme as a major factor in his decision, believing it will allow him to showcase his skills as a between-the-tackles runner. Smith also praised the Red Raiders' depth chart, where he projects to compete for a starting role immediately. Additionally, he was drawn to Texas Tech's strong academic program, which offers a range of degree options in his desired field of study. Smith had previously committed to another program but reopened his recruitment in April, ultimately selecting the Red Raiders as his top choice. He is expected to sign a National Letter of Intent in the coming weeks.
