Marcus Anderson Commits to Iowa State
Rigby Trojans safety Marcus Anderson, a Class of 2027 prospect, has committed to Iowa State University. Anderson, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound defender, chose the Cyclones over other Power Five offers from Oregon and Wisconsin. The Rigby standout fits Iowa State's defensive scheme, which features a 3-3-5 alignment that utilizes speedy, athletic defenders. Anderson's commitment to the Cyclones also provides an opportunity for immediate playing time, as he is expected to compete for a starting role in the secondary. Additionally, Iowa State's academic program, which offers a range of engineering and business majors, aligns with Anderson's academic interests. Anderson had previously committed to Utah State but decommitted in March after a coaching change. He is considered one of the top safeties in the Class of 2027, with a reported 4.5-second 40-yard dash time and a 35-inch vertical jump.
