Tyler Thompson Commits to TCU
Mount Carmel Caravan linebacker Tyler Thompson has committed to play for the TCU Horned Frogs. The Class of 2027 standout will join a Horned Frogs defense that runs a 3-3 stack scheme, which aligns with his strengths as a versatile linebacker. Thompson will have the opportunity to contribute immediately, as TCU's linebacking corps is expected to be relatively young. The Horned Frogs' academic program, which includes a strong business school, also appealed to Thompson, who plans to study finance. Prior to committing to TCU, Thompson had previously committed to Purdue but reopened his recruitment in April. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Thompson was a key member of the Caravan's 8A state championship team as a sophomore. He is considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Illinois for the Class of 2027.
