Bryce White: The Unlikely Starter
Westfield Shamrocks 5A OL Bryce White made waves in his first season with the team, starting 10 games at left tackle after transferring from out-of-state. In those contests, White allowed just two sacks and graded out at 85% or higher in five of them. The Class of 2027 prospect has brought a level of physicality to the Shamrocks' line, allowing quarterback Tyler Jenkins to take fewer hits in the pocket. White's ability to adapt to the IHSAA's rules and the Shamrocks' system has been impressive, and his size (6-5, 280) and athleticism have scouts taking notice. As the Shamrocks prepare for their 2026 campaign, White will be counted on to anchor the line and open holes for star running back Alex Rodriguez. Scouts are watching to see how White handles the increased attention from opposing defenses and whether he can maintain his high level of play throughout the season.
