Local Flag Prospects Eye Ottawa University, Keiser University Camps
The Lawrence Free State Firebirds are gearing up for their inaugural flag football season, and several local prospects are eyeing opportunities to attend camps at Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida. Ottawa University, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships for flag football. Keiser University, also an active recruiter, has a strong presence in the NAIA Sun Conference. Both schools are verified scholarship programs for flag football. Local athletes interested in attending one of these camps should contact the schools directly to inquire about upcoming dates and registration information. The University of Nebraska, a Power 4 school, will begin its inaugural NCAA D1 flag football season in 2028, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Midland University, Nebraska, is also an active recruiter in the NAIA. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is not yet offering scholarships.
