Quarterback Accuracy Drills for St. Augustine Purple Knights
As the St. Augustine Purple Knights prepare for the upcoming 4A season, quarterback accuracy is key to success. To improve their QBs' ability to deliver the ball on time and in the right spot, the coaching staff can implement the '5-Yard Box Drill.' Set up five small boxes, each 3 feet by 3 feet, spaced 5 yards apart. Have the QB stand in the first box and throw to a receiver standing in the adjacent box. The twist: the receiver must move to a different box after each catch. The QB must quickly reset and throw to the new location. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick release and accuracy. Coaching cues: 'Step into the throw, eyes on the target, and let it rip.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the quick decision-making and accuracy required on the field.
