FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Xaverian Brothers Hawks QB Drill

๐Ÿ“ Xaverian Brothers HawksยทTuesday, July 21, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Xaverian Brothers Hawks coaching staff has developed a drill to improve quarterback footwork and decision-making under pressure. The 'Quick Release' drill involves setting up four cones in a square formation, with each cone 5 yards apart. The quarterback starts at the center cone and must quickly move to each corner cone, releasing a pass to a receiver at each station. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'Keep your eyes up and focused on the receiver,' and 'Quickly transfer your weight from one foot to the other.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the quarterback's ability to read defenses and quickly release the ball to an open receiver.
