Game-Changing CB Drill for MIAA Programs: 'Shadow' Technique
St. Frances Academy Panthers' cornerbacks can take their game to the next level with the 'Shadow' drill. This intense workout focuses on mirroring receivers' moves, enhancing reaction time, and improving coverage skills. To run the drill, divide the CBs into pairs. One player is the 'receiver,' while the other is the 'cornerback.' The receiver starts at the line of scrimmage, and the cornerback begins 5 yards off. The receiver runs a 5-yard route, and the cornerback must mirror their every move, staying 5 yards off. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the receiver,' 'stay on their hip,' and 'react to the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing CBs to anticipate receivers' moves and stay one step ahead. By mastering the 'Shadow' technique, St. Frances Academy Panthers' cornerbacks will be a formidable force on the field.
