Game-Changing CB Drill for Cheverus Stags: 'Shadow Stance Shuffle'

๐Ÿ“ Cheverus StagsยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Cheverus Stags cornerbacks can take their game to the next level with the 'Shadow Stance Shuffle' drill. Designed to enhance footwork, agility, and reaction time, this drill is perfect for A program defenders looking to stay one step ahead of opponents. Set up a 5-yard cone course with three cones in a zigzag pattern. Players will start in a 'shadow stance' (feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and weight evenly distributed). On the coach's signal, they'll shuffle through the course, focusing on quick, light footwork and staying low. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Keep your weight low,' 'Shuffle, don't run,' and 'Stay in phase with the cones.' This drill translates to game performance by improving cornerbacks' ability to quickly change direction and stay in front of receivers, making them a formidable force on the defensive side of the ball.
