Malik Taylor Commits to University of Houston
The University of Houston has received a commitment from Malik Taylor, a Class of 2027 kicker from Leavitt High School in Maine. Taylor, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound specialist, chose the Cougars over offers from Boston College and Syracuse. The Leavitt Hornets' standout kicker is expected to contribute to Houston's kicking game immediately, with the Cougars' head coach citing Taylor's strong leg and accuracy as key factors in his decision. Taylor's commitment fills a void on Houston's depth chart, which lost a starter to graduation. Academically, Taylor is well-positioned to succeed at Houston, where he will pursue a degree in business administration. Taylor had previously committed to the University of Maine but decommitted in April after exploring other options. With his commitment to Houston, Taylor becomes the Cougars' first kicker to commit for the 2027 class.
