Marcus Johnson Commits to Kansas State
Davison Cardinals kicker Marcus Johnson, a Class of 2026 standout, has committed to Kansas State University. Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound specialist, will join the Wildcats as a preferred walk-on. The Davison native chose Kansas State for its strong kicking tradition and the opportunity to compete for a spot in the team's kicking unit. The Wildcats' 4-3 defensive scheme, which features a strong emphasis on field position, aligns with Johnson's strengths as a kicker. Kansas State's depth chart at kicker is currently up for grabs, providing Johnson with a clear path to earn playing time. The university's strong academic programs, including its renowned engineering department, also played a role in Johnson's decision. Johnson had previously committed to another program but decommitted in search of a better fit. He is expected to enroll at Kansas State in the fall of 2027.
