Detroit King Crusaders Girls Flag Football Recruits Eye New Scholarship Pathways in Texas
As MHSAA expands its flag football pilot district, Detroit King Crusaders athletes are eyeing new scholarship opportunities in the Lone Star State. While the University of Texas at Arlington is still developing its program, several NAIA schools and a Power 5 NCAA D1 powerhouse are actively recruiting Texas talent. Ottawa University, Kansas, offers up to 12 scholarships and has a reputation as a national powerhouse. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Meanwhile, the University of Nebraska, set to launch its inaugural 2028 season, is led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers and has already begun scouting top talent. Detroit King Crusaders athletes interested in pursuing flag football scholarships should research these programs and contact their coaches directly to discuss eligibility and recruitment processes.
