Explosive Route Running Drill for 6A WRs: Lakeville North Panthers' Secret to Success

๐Ÿ“ Lakeville North PanthersยทTuesday, July 7, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Lakeville North Panthers' wide receivers can expect to see significant improvement in their route running with the introduction of the 'Quick Cut' drill. The drill consists of three sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest in between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then quickly explode off the line, cutting 45 degrees to the right. Coaches will yell 'Quick Cut' as the player makes the cut, emphasizing the need for speed and agility. This drill translates to game performance by teaching WRs to quickly change direction and get open against defensive backs. It also improves their ability to create separation and make plays down the field.
