FridayNightPulse: RB Power Drill for Summer Camp
This summer, running backs at programs like Hazelwood Central Hawks, Blue Springs Wildcats, Park Hill South Panthers, Lee's Summit North Tigers, Liberty North Eagles, and Liberty High School Fighting Flies can improve their speed and agility with a powerful drill. The 'L-Shape Shuttle' involves two cones set up in an 'L' shape, 5 yards apart. Players start at the top of the 'L' and sprint to the bottom, then immediately change direction and sprint back to the top. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaches should cue players to 'stay low and fast,' keeping their eyes on the ground and driving their knees. This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time and cutting ability, allowing RBs to quickly change direction and make big plays.
