The Rockhurst Hawklets are gearing up for another dominant season, and their running backs are key to that success. To improve their speed, agility, and endurance, Coach Thompson has implemented the 'Hawk Dash' drill. This high-intensity workout targets the RBs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate through small spaces. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1. Start in a 3-point stance, 2. Dash 5 yards to the left, 3. Quickly pivot 180 degrees and dash 5 yards to the right. Coaching cues: 'Fast feet, fast feet!' and 'Change direction, not speed!' This drill translates to game performance by allowing RBs to quickly adjust to defenders and create big plays. Get ready to see the Hawklets' RBs take flight this season.
