Hawklets' Thompson Commits to Houston Football
Marcus Thompson, a Class of 2027 cornerback from Rockhurst High School, has committed to the University of Houston football program. The 5-foot-10 defensive back chose the Cougars over offers from several other Power Five schools. Thompson cited Houston's aggressive defensive scheme and the opportunity to contribute immediately as key factors in his decision. The Cougar program's emphasis on developing secondary players also appealed to the Missouri native. Thompson's commitment comes after a strong showing at Houston's summer camp, where he impressed coaches with his ball skills and athleticism. The Rockhurst standout is expected to compete for a starting role in the secondary. Thompson previously held offers from Missouri and Oklahoma State before decommitting in April. He is ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.
