Jalen Jackson Commits to SMU
Oak Grove Warriors linebacker Jalen Jackson has committed to Southern Methodist University. The Class of 2026 standout chose SMU over offers from several other Power Five programs. Jackson's commitment to the Mustangs is a testament to the school's defensive scheme, which aligns with his strengths as a linebacker. He is expected to compete for a starting spot immediately, given the current depth chart. Additionally, SMU's academic program, which offers a strong business and engineering curriculum, was a major factor in Jackson's decision. Jackson had previously committed to another program but ultimately chose to decommit and pursue SMU. He is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker with a 4.5 GPA and a 32 ACT score. The Oak Grove Warriors are looking forward to a strong season under new coach John Smith, and Jackson's commitment is a boost to the team's morale.
