QB Quick Release Drill for Glacier Wolfpack
This summer, Kalispell Glacier Wolfpack quarterbacks can improve their quick release with a targeted drill. Set up a series of 5-7 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Quarterbacks will start at one end and sprint to the first cone, planting their outside foot and releasing a pass to a receiver at the second cone. After receiving the pass, the receiver will sprint to the third cone, where they'll plant and release a pass back to the quarterback. This sequence will repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaches should emphasize proper footwork, keeping the quarterback's eyes downfield and their elbow at a 90-degree angle. This drill translates to game performance by improving the quarterback's ability to quickly read defenses and release the ball before they can get hit. It also enhances their accuracy and decision-making under pressure.
