Shut Down the Competition: Butte Bulldogs CB Drill
This summer, Butte Bulldogs cornerbacks can take their game to the next level with the 'Shadow Shuffle' drill. Designed to improve footwork and reaction time, this drill is perfect for AA programs looking to dominate on defense. To set up the drill, divide the field into four quadrants, each with a cone or marker. Have the CB start at the 10-yard line, facing the quarterback. On the coach's signal, the CB must shuffle to the right, then to the left, and finally, back to the starting position. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'eyes on the quarterback.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing CBs to quickly react to receivers' movements and stay in phase. By mastering the Shadow Shuffle, Butte Bulldogs cornerbacks will be shutdown artists on the field.
