FridayNightPulse: WR Drill for AA Programs

๐Ÿ“ Kalispell Glacier WolfpackยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At AA programs like Kalispell Glacier Wolfpack, wide receivers need to be prepared for the physicality and speed of the competition. One drill that can help improve their skills is the 'Route Box Drill'. The drill involves setting up five cones in a box shape, with each cone 5 yards apart. The receiver starts at the center cone and must run a 5-yard out route to the first cone, then a 5-yard slant to the second cone, followed by a 5-yard in route to the third cone. They must then reverse direction and run a 5-yard out route to the fourth cone, and finally a 5-yard slant to the fifth cone. The receiver should complete 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick cuts and explosive acceleration. This drill translates to game performance by improving the receiver's ability to quickly change direction and separate from defenders.
