Malik Young Commits to Baylor

Malik Young, a Class of 2027 running back from Myers Park High School, has committed to Baylor University. Young, a 4A standout, chose the Bears due to their offense's emphasis on speed and agility, which aligns with his playing style. Baylor's depth chart at running back is expected to be competitive, but Young believes he has a chance to contribute immediately. The university's academic program, which offers a strong business and communications curriculum, also played a significant factor in his decision. Young had previously considered several other Power Five schools, but ultimately chose Baylor for its athletic and academic opportunities. He is expected to enroll in January 2027 and participate in spring practice.
