Weddington Warriors Girls Flag Football Recruits Tap into New Scholarship Opportunities
The NCHSAA flag football pilot district expansion in Texas has opened doors to new scholarship pathways for talented athletes. The Weddington Warriors, a 3A powerhouse, are poised to capitalize on these opportunities. Coaches and athletes are advised to explore verified scholarship programs at the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will debut its inaugural NCAA D1 flag football season in 2028. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are active recruiters. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its NCAA D1 program, but scholarships are not yet available.
