Pilot District Expansion Creates New Scholarship Opportunities for Texas Girls Flag Football Athletes
The NDHSAA's pilot district expansion for girls flag football has created new scholarship pathways for Texas athletes. The Bismarck Demons, a AAA team from North Dakota, are poised to capitalize on these opportunities. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer Power 4 scholarships in its inaugural 2028 season. Other NAIA programs, including Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, offer up to 12 scholarships. Athletes from Texas can now consider these programs as viable options. To explore these opportunities, athletes should research and reach out to these schools directly. The UT Arlington program, in development, does not currently offer scholarships. By taking proactive steps, Texas girls flag football athletes can secure their future in the sport.
