Bryce Young Commits to SMU
Fargo Shanley cornerback Bryce Young has committed to play football at Southern Methodist University. Young, a Class of 2026 prospect, chose SMU for its affinity to his playing style and the opportunity to contribute immediately. The Mustangs' defensive scheme, which emphasizes aggressive man-to-man coverage, aligns with Young's strengths as a physical and athletic corner. Additionally, SMU's depth chart at cornerback appears to be open, providing Young with a clear path to playing time. The university's academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering courses, also appealed to Young. He had previously considered several other Division I programs, but ultimately chose SMU for its athletic and academic fit. Young is expected to enroll at SMU in the fall of 2027.
