Sprint to Success: Lincoln East Spartans' Speed Training Drill for S Players
The Lincoln East Spartans' coaching staff is gearing up for another successful season with a focus on speed and agility training for their S players. One key drill to watch is the 'Shuttle Sprints with Crossover Step.' This drill targets the quick change of direction and acceleration that S players need to excel on the field. To run this drill, set up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards beyond the second cone. S players will start at the first cone, sprint to the second cone, then quickly change direction and crossover their outside foot to the third cone. Complete 3 sets of 5 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'explosive acceleration' and 'quick footwork.'
