As the University of Nebraska prepares to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028, top prospects from Omaha are setting their sights on verified scholarship opportunities. The Omaha Burke Bulldogs, a perennial powerhouse in Nebraska high school flag football, are expected to supply a strong contingent of talent for the Cornhuskers. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, who will lead the program, have already begun recruiting top players from the region. For Omaha athletes, this means exploring verified scholarship programs at Ottawa University, Kansas, which offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships, and Keiser University, Florida, which has a proven track record of recruiting top talent. Midland University, Nebraska, also offers NAIA scholarships and is an active recruiter in the region.
