Bellevue West Thunderbirds Girls Flag Football Athletes Eye National Scholarship Opportunities
With the NSAA flag football pilot district expansion, Texas athletes are now eligible to compete for national scholarships. Bellevue West Thunderbirds girls flag football players are among those eyeing opportunities at the University of Nebraska, where Power 4 coaches Liz and Katie Sowers will lead the inaugural 2028 season. Other top NAIA programs, including Ottawa University, Kansas, and Midland University, Nebraska, offer up to 12 scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, is an active recruiter in the NAIA Sun Conference. While UT Arlington is developing its NCAA D1 program, it has not yet begun offering scholarships.
