Speed and Agility Drill for S Players: Kearney Bearcats Prep

๐Ÿ“ Kearney BearcatsยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, S players at programs like the Kearney Bearcats can improve their quickness and agility with a focused drill. The 'Ladder Shuffle' involves setting up a ladder on the field with 5-6 rungs. Players start in a 3-point stance, then shuffle their feet through the ladder, focusing on proper footwork and body positioning. Coaches should emphasize keeping the feet close to the ground and using the inside foot to push off. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate. It also helps develop the necessary footwork for reading and reacting to blocks and screens.
