As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 flag football program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is generating buzz among multisport female athletes. For Nashua South Panthers' standout athlete, Emily Wilson, flag football offers a new path to college scholarships. With a strong background in track and field, Wilson is now focusing on developing her skills in flag football. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse with up to 12 scholarships, and Keiser University, Florida, an active recruiter, are among the verified programs Wilson is exploring. Midland University, Nebraska, also has a strong flag football program and is actively recruiting. Wilson plans to attend summer camps at these institutions to gain exposure and learn more about their scholarship opportunities. UT Arlington, while not yet offering scholarships, is developing its program and may become a viable option in the future.
