Pirates' Flag Football Talent Sees New Scholarship Opportunities Amid NJSIAA Expansion
As the University Interscholastic League's (NJSIAA) pilot district expansion for girls flag football takes shape, top programs across the country are taking notice. For Seton Hall Prep Pirates, this means new scholarship pathways for talented athletes. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is set to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028, offering scholarships to top recruits. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are actively recruiting flag football talent, with Ottawa offering up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Midland University, Nebraska, is also an active recruiter. While UT Arlington's NCAA Division 1 program is still in development, athletes can begin building relationships with coaches and exploring opportunities for future scholarships.
