Paladins Pass Coverage: A CB Drill for Non-Public B Excellence

๐Ÿ“ Paramus Catholic PaladinsยทFriday, July 3, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Non-Public B cornerbacks like Paramus Catholic's Paladins need to be ready for the fast-paced, physical nature of their league. To prepare, we're running a pass coverage drill that targets quick reactions and footwork. Set up four cones in a square formation, with the cornerback standing at the top of the square. The quarterback will start at the bottom of the square and progress through a series of drops, including slants, outs, and deep posts. The cornerback must react quickly to the ball and maintain proper footwork, staying in phase with the receiver. Coach the CB to 'stay soft on their feet' and 'keep their eyes on the ball.' Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. This drill will translate to game performance by improving the CB's ability to read the quarterback and stay in coverage, even on quick passes.
