Game-Changing CB Drill for Non-Public A Programs: 'Shadow and Mirror'

๐Ÿ“ Don Bosco Prep IronmenยทMonday, July 6, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, take your cornerbacks to the next level with the 'Shadow and Mirror' drill, perfect for Non-Public A programs like Don Bosco Prep Ironmen. Set up a 10-yard grid with cones, with a coach or trainer at each corner. Have the CB player start at one corner, then 'shadow' the coach's movements, mirroring their steps and hand placement. After 3 sets of 10 reps, switch roles and have the coach shadow the CB player. Coaching cues: 'Stay on their hip,' 'Mirror my hands,' and 'Keep your eyes on the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, spatial awareness, and technique under pressure. By mastering 'Shadow and Mirror,' your CBs will be ready to take on the best of the best in the Non-Public A division.
