Speed and Agility Training for Non-Public A S Players: The Zig-Zag Shuttle

๐Ÿ“ St. Peter's Prep MaraudersยทThursday, July 23, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At St. Peter's Prep Marauders, our S players are working on a high-intensity drill to improve their speed and agility. The Zig-Zag Shuttle involves setting up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards behind the second cone. Players start at the first cone, sprint to the second cone, then zig-zag through the third cone, and finally sprint back to the first cone. We're doing 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'keep your head up and eyes forward' and 'stay low and explosive.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, quick change of direction, and overall speed. By incorporating this drill into our summer camp, we're confident our S players will be ready to make an impact on the field this season.
