La Cueva's Talented Multisport Athletes Eye Flag Football Scholarships
As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 flag football program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is attracting the attention of top multisport female athletes in New Mexico. La Cueva's standout athletes, accustomed to competing in multiple sports, are now focusing on flag football as a viable pathway to college scholarships. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse with up to 12 scholarships, and Keiser University, Florida, an active recruiter, are also on the radar. Midland University, Nebraska, another active recruiter, offers a NAIA opportunity. Meanwhile, UT Arlington's developing program, while not yet offering scholarships, is worth monitoring. For La Cueva's multisport athletes, this means targeting verified scholarship programs and creating highlight tapes to showcase their skills.
